HISTORY Aspiration Software was founded by Charles and Rose Asper in 1995 as a sole proprietorship. In the early phases of company growth, business was split between web development services in the private sector and IT services in the public sector. This family effort was spearheaded by Charles Asper, who provided high-level software engineering support mainly on the government side, while Rose supported the office management duties. Their son Paul took on the role of web designer/programmer. ASI began to diversify its services in 1997 as it developed the web sites for Manion Music and Seton Home Study School (See: www.manionmusic.com www.setonhome.org). ASI offered Business Process Reengineering (BPR) consulting services for Seton, which involved structuring Seton’s computer department and included setting up Internet access, supporting web site and database upgrades, implementing computer security policies and procedures, configuring networks, and developing computer use policies and BRR process flows. In 1999 Aspiration Software became incorporated, marking the beginning of ASI’s full -time consulting services. The business focused primarily on the U.S. Intelligence Community IT sector, in which Mr. Asper had served in a variety of positions since 1976. Dan Dawson, the first non-family employee, was hired in December 2001. Dan still provides engineering services for our customers today. In 2003, ASI’s first major growth spurt brought on five more employees. 2004 saw four more engineers join the ranks, and in 2005, an additional seven employees brought ASI’s growth rate to 40 percent for the year. The 2006 growth rate was also substantial at 75 percent. By December of 2006, ASI reached a new high of 39 employees, providing a wide range of high-level system engineering, software development and other IT services to our clients across the continental United States. Growth in size also brought growth in revenues. At the end of 2006, the company’s compounded revenue growth since 1999 was at 83 percent, bringing the company to the $5 million mark for the first time. As the company brought in 2007, sights were set on opportunities for growth and expansion into other governmental agencies, as well as on the development of a suite of products to compliment the services that are offered both in public and private sector businesses. This work continues with excitement in 2008. For ASI, the future is bright!
